Lion's Walkway Extension - Village Green, Pa Site and Pahi Road Loop
The Lion's Walkway which used to run a loop around the old pa site from the Village Green and back has now been extended as part of a project intended to cover the whole of the Pahi Peninsula. There is now approx. 5km of path running through bush and private land and along mangrove marsh and creek. The entrance is at the Village Green but can also be walked from the Cutter Bridge end. To start the walk at the village green, follow the original Lion's Walkway over farmland, across the creek and up the hill to the Pa site. After this you will come to a new section of track that takes you down the hill to the West and along the creek bank. Boardwalks have been built across the creek in two places. You will find yourself on Pahi Rd, just South of Cutter Bridge. From there you can follow the path beside Pahi Rd until it joins the footpath near Pahi Rd corner. After that there is footpath all the way down SH12 back to the village. The whole track takes about an hour and a half at a gentle walk. There are some steep parts and steps to negotiate. The path is mostly limestone so wear comfortable walking shoes.
